History teachers don’t get many nice things - how about a Queenstown conference?
The Korean War Legacy Foundation is honoured to partner with the New Zealand History Teachers Association to host the 2025 World Congress of Teachers in Queenstown, New Zealand from 9-12 October 2025. Teachers from New Zealand and the Republic of Korea will join teachers from 22 United Nations member countries that participated in the Korean War to share ideas on how the war and its legacy can be taught in the classroom. A special area of focus will be on the NZHTA new Korean War curriculum book that will be launched at this event.
Upon acceptance to the conference, a non-refundable $75 USD payment is required and you will receive three nights of hotel accommodations, most meals, and travel costs reimbursed up to $275USD. Applications close Friday 30 May so don’t miss out. Ask your school today!!
Spaces are very limited. For more info and to apply:

External moderation
A message from our amazing NAA Christina:
If you have marked internals over the break or at the end of last term (or are about to finish an internal) and it is a standard that is on the External moderation plan for your school- then I would LOVE to have them asap. This helps for lots of reasons:
- Accurate feedback gets out to the sector as more people get their reports back and can help answer questions on FB, from colleagues etc.
- I get more examples that I can use to update exemplars or APT
- If issues begin to emerge, I can work with you to offer webinars or targeted assessor support
- A VERY timely turnabout. You would most commonly get a report back within 48 hours and it would almost certainly have been moderated by the NAA (me).
- Helps reduce the bottleneck at the end of the year which means those that can (for one reason or another) only submit by Oct 20, won’t be waiting as long for their report.
I am here to help! The “request for clarification” form is a really great support that so seldom gets used!

Internal moderation support
If you're in need of any L1-3 internal moderation support, checking any grade boundaries, verifying with comments, including critiquing of any assessment tasks before getting underway, I'm here to help. Just email me at nzhtaexec@gmail.com
