Consultation opened today on the third group of subjects in the new Phase 5 Years | Tau 11–13 curriculum. The eagerly anticipated History | Te Takanga o te Wā curriculum was not released today as scheduled.

The Ministry has communicated that ‘it is essential that we get the balance right between developing students’ historical thinking skills, building a strong foundation of historical knowledge, and we have alignment with Phase 4.’ The Ministry has said that consultation on the History curriculum will take place in early August.
